Who: I am, apparently, Hal Clement, and also a hand-held hole punch featured on Star Trek. I am short, red-headed, and deceptively harmless-looking. I have a weakness for grey tie-dye and will almost never refuse the offer of a pint.

What: I write science fiction. I also play bass in a band called Witching Hour.

What else: I make quilts and ATCs. I read voraciously and spend far too much time playing computer games.

Where: I grew up in Ames, Iowa, the same area which produced Neal Stephenson, and about forty miles away, Slipknot. Having achieved my childhood ambition of escaping from Iowa, I now live in London, England.
